First and foremost Thank You for checking out our "About Us" page. Although we have had our web site up for quite a few years, we never put this type of page up. An oversite that is now being corrected.
We are Scott and Renee Roberts, proud owners of the American Bulldogs that make up our Ren-Scot Kennels. Many years ago we were know as Ren-Scot Rottweilers, a Rottweiler kennel with the majority of our dogs imported from Germany. During that time in our lives we were making a 2 hour ride one way to go to Schutzhund Club twice a week. We helped to form the Palmetto State Schutzhund Club, and made some wonderful friends who will be friends for life.
Our club held many seminars with "world class trainers". We brought in trainers from Belgium, Germany, and the United States, and the lessons learned, not only apply to Schutzhund training, but to dog training that can be applied to any dog fancy.
We will always fondly remember that time in our lives, and would like to take the time to thank all those who took the time to help a couple of "green horns", and we hope that if any of you all are looking we have made you proud.
That's how the love of the AB began, Big Popa was bought from Boyd's in California, in hopes of Schutzhund training, but as it turned out Pappy preferred to weight pull, and is in our minds the "Greatest 'ol Bulldog" you could ever want. Thanks Matt and Susie for Pappy 'D as we sometimes call him, he really is the greatest.
Now to the "we don't play"....
We love our dogs with all our hearts and want them to do their best at what ever they do. We are not arrogant enough to think that every dog is going to do it all. We take what we have and through lots of laughter and tears(that would be Renee's job)train our dogs to the best of their ability, period. Thankfully, we understand that in no way do we think we know it ALL. New lessons are learned each day. All this boils down to is........ you get EXACTLY out of it what you put into it!
We are not here to populate the earth with bulldogs, we have a couple of litters each year, and have taken lots of time getting to this point. We owned AB's for years before breeding anything on our yard. We take careful consideration with each breeding, looking to produce a pup that we would want to keep on our yard, not just to sell you a dog for your yard.
We do have lots of fun with our dogs, but when it's time to get down to business.............
